Community

True Foods is now the largest private employer in the Central Goldfields region. This means we are surrounded by people who are passionate about promoting positive change and support for this wonderful community. True Foods is proud to play an active role in supporting various community activities.

Way back in 1840, the Simson brothers, became the first pioneering settlers to what is now known as the Victorian town of Maryborough. Not known for doing things by halves, they spent five gruelling years building Simson House; the first homestead made from stone in Victoria. The Simson brothers set the foundation for modern day Maryborough; a close-knit community born from prosperity and wholesome goodness. They’ve inspired us to deliver the best country baked goods – we hope we’ve inspired you to make your wrap, your way. True Foods is delighted to announce the release of Simson’s Pantry wraps, available to purchase in Coles, Woolworths and select independents nationally. Available in multiple ranges; Better For You Low Carb Wraps, Core No Artificial Preservatives Wraps, Naan and Pizza Bases. For more information please visit the Simson’s Pantry website

2023 presented yet another fantastic MDHS Charity Golf Day, this year the funds raised are going towards the local aged care facilities at Wattle Rise residential community in Maryborough. The event continues to grow year on year and once again we are thankful for all who were involved. Money raised on this day provided the funds to purchase these important assets for our Health Service. MDHS are currently undertaking renovations to expand the dining room which will include the addition of a new servery, bain marie and furniture in this area. True Foods is thrilled to be an ongoing supporter and major sponsor of such a wonderful cause, making a real difference within our local community.

This annual event is held in Maryborough, and recognises the wonderful support of our extended True Foods Family. All team members and their families are invited to attend, with loads of activities provided - rock climbing, jumping castles and a special appearance by Santa.

The RACV Energy Breakthrough is an exciting program designed to provide opportunities for students, teachers, parents and local industry to work together to represent an energy breakthrough. We are proud that this event takes place in Maryborough and we do everything we can to play a role in its success.  The most recent event took place 21st and 22nd of November 2015, here are some of our highlights:  (we will be sure to take photos)

True Foods Work Transition Day was established to create a link between classroom study with practical concepts to encourage active learning, and to enable students to explore the various education and career options available in the industry, including traineeships and part-time work positions. This year we had an amazing time hosting 20 Highview College students who got to hear from our CEO Mark Thurlow to discuss the diverse careers, pathways and education options, as well as our General Manager Jason Baker about his career journey, and attended a presentation detailing the variety of professions, career options, and training opportunities available at True Foods.

During their visit, the students participated live activities and had a first-hand experience of the work atmosphere at True Foods. They also had the opportunity to observe the live working mechanisms of machinery and equipment. The day was a great success, we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to showcase our industry and the exciting careers it offers!
